The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Tanzania Chapter invites visitors to explore its new website. The new website has been designed to provide the ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality throughout, allowing the public to access detailed freedom of expression information with the option to share information across major social networking sites.
Speaking during the Launch, MISA Tanzania Chairperson Ms Salome Kitomary said the website will offer freedom of expression news, analyses on policies and laws governing media, alerts on media freedom violations, access to information and act as a resource to researchers and students alike.
The Launch was also co-officiated by Dr Hassan Abbas, Government Spokesperson and Director of Tanzania Information Services who said the Access to Information Act of 2016 became operational since July 2017 and also confirmed that its regulations have been gazetted. The Act and Regulations could be found at here.
According to MISA Tanzania Acting National Director Gasirigwa Sengiyumva, the website created with technical and financial support from DW Akademie will now be found at https://tanzania.misa.org/ . “We have spent some time working on our new website and reorganised our features to make it simpler to our estimated viewers and get what they want.
You can now visit our new website using your Computer and nice interface by using mobile, tablet or whatever work best for you.
